Welcome to C.H.A.N.G.E.!
C.H.A.N.G.E. stands for Christian Homes Actively Networking for Godly Education and is open to any Christian homeschooling family dedicated to bringing up their children “in the
nurture and admonition of the Lord” (Ephesians. 6:4).
C.H.A.N.G.E. does not endorse any particular approach to home education. Although there are a variety of curricula and methods of implementation, maintaining a spirit of unity is the primary goal, while still encouraging one another in each one’s individual approach to home education.
We are a TOTALLY VOLUNTEER group and will provide you with an opportunity
to meet new people and make new friends. We strongly encourage each person to help in some area. Your God-given ideas, special gifts, and skills are highly encouraged and appreciated.
We are an autonomous group, but are affiliated with Illinois Christian Home Educators (ICHE). Illinois Christian Home Educators is a not-for-profit Christian organization composed of families dedicated to the success of home education in Illinois. ICHE was started in December of 1983 by four Christian families seeking the support and fellowship of like-minded home educators. They decided to form ICHE for the purpose of encouraging the formation of distinctly Christian support groups, compiling information to help form such groups, and making the information available to support group leaders.

Have you heard of HSLDA? It is not a new disease, or computer language. What is it? Home School Legal Defense Association is a nonprofit advocacy organization established to defend and advance the constitutional right of parents to direct the upbringing and education of their children and to protect family freedoms. We provide homeschooling-related legal advice and representation to our 84,000+ member families, promote homeschool-friendly legislation at the state and federal levels, and offer information and resources to encourage and support all homeschoolers. Being a member of CHANGE gives you a discount on membership with HSLDA. Check out their website!

DOCTRINAL STATEMENT
• We believe the Bible to be the infallible Word of God, the supreme and final authority for all faith and life.
• We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
• We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension and His imminent bodily return in power and glory.
• We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost, and only those who put their faith in Jesus Christ alone can be saved.
• We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose substitutionary death on the cross paid the penalty for man’s sin.
• We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict men, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service.
• We believe that marriage is ordained by God, is between one man and one woman as set forth in the Bible, and is intended to be a picture of Jesus Christ and the Church.
• We believe in the spiritual unity of believers through our common faith in Jesus Christ and that lesser doctrinal differences which may exist should not hinder the cooperation of Christian home educators.
