C.H.A.N.G.E co-op classes
Our Co-op meets on Fridays. The classes listed below by age group represent a "track" for that group. Beginning at 9:00am, all students are expected to participate in the classes appropriate to their age throughout the morning. There is also gym time during the morning for each age group. Lunch: optional from 12-1pm, bring your own lunch, & stay for fellowship & clean-up.
Class descriptions: SPRING 2024
ASSEMBLY
Our day starts off with 9am prayer, followed by the pledge of allegiance, worship songs, devotional, and announcements. Children worship together and recite verses for memorization. For writing able students, please bring a journal to write the verse of the day and draw a picture to help guard God's word in their hearts. Children will also have the opportunity to pray with the assembly leader.
0-2 NURSERY
Nursery
While you're teaching or helping in a class, your little ones will be cared for in a nurturing environment. Toys will be provided as well as other activities to keep them busy. There will be 2 or more moms at all times in the nursery.
3-4 YEAR OLDS
Preschool
This preschool class will consist of circle time, interactive music, reading, building, creating, and practicing foundational skills that every child can build on at their own pace.

5-7 YEAR OLDS
Paper Bag Engineering
In this class we will have fun and simple STEM challenges. They will encourage problem solving, creativity, invention and design.

Community Helpers
Let's take a closer look at our community! We will learn about some important jobs that help others, uniforms used by some of our community helpers, and even a little about the vehicles some of the workers may be found in.

Story Time
We will enjoy a variety of stories including classic children’s stories and nursery rhymes. We will use songs, crafts, and other activities to complement the stories we read together.

8-10 YEAR OLDS
Recitation
Children will have the opportunity to get up in front of their classmates each week and speak. We will have show and tell, Bible verse, and poem recitation. It is important for our children to learn to speak in front of others to lessen the chances of developing a fear of public speaking as they become adults.

Old Time Fun and Games
Not too long ago, toys and games were a luxury!
Students will learn about old games (such as tiddlywinks or kick the can) and make their own toys using scraps around the home (such as cat’s cradle, rag dolls, and pinecone people).
Please ensure your students brings the following supplies on the first day of class:
- old clothes or linens (to be cut up)
- leftover buttons, strings, yarn, etc
- clean, empty food can

Intro to Band Instruments
Each week we will explore how a different band instrument sounds and how to identify them in a musical score. We will listen to a solo, band score, orchestra score, and possibly jazz depending on the instrument. They will also get the chance to try and make a sound on the instrument or hear me play one.

Spanish
Your children will learn to read and write basic Spanish. Pronunciation, vocabulary, and reading will be emphasized through repetition. Spanish games a bonus.

11 + YEAR OLDS
Ropework & Crochet
Students will learn different knots and tying techniques as well as the basics of crotchet and reading a pattern. Students are responsible for acquiring their own supplies and bringing to every class.
Required supplies:
- 1 length rope 4-6 feet (dollar store jump rope is fine)
- crochet hook (preferably size L, M, or N)
- 1 skein yarn of child’s liking which must be compatible with hook - 1 stitch marker (can be a binder clip or bobby pin)

Intro to Home Cooking
Students will learn the basics of cooking and baking in the kitchen. From safety and sanitation to knife skills and various kitchen labs. Our end goal is to learn how to prepare and make simple recipes.

Navigating Friendships Bible Study
We will help our students understand the purpose of friendships in their lives based on truth from the Word of God.
